Volunteer: Adult Supportive Prescence in Center
We need caring adults to serve as friendly adult presences in our Teen Drop-in Center. Adults assist our Peer Outreach Workers (POW’s) in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of youth in our center.
We would request these volunteers to come in on specific days, but always within the time period of 1-5pm Monday through Thursday. Applicants must be able to pass a federal background check, and complete a 3 hour training (times flexible).
If you are interested in mentoring young parents, teaching coping skills groups (teaching a group on how to sew, knit, crochet, paint, journal, ect.) this would also be an awesome opportunity to model good parenting skills for teen parents with young children.
This need is ongoing; interested persons must be 21 years old and up.
Volunteer: Take recyclables to the Recycling Center
We need someone to pick up our recycling bins (usually one trip’s worth of items) and take them to the Recycling Center once a month. In the POWER Teen Center, we recycle cardboard, aluminum, plastic and paper products.
